self-healingHow can this be so difficult?

I have been helping people heal and find balance for many years and I’ve just experienced my first stumbling block on healing someone.  ME!!! My biggest struggle to date is the concept of healing MYSELF!!! GO FIGURE!!!

It has been challenging to figure out how to dedicate 30 percent of my day toward my own self-care. It isn’t about making the time actually, it is how do I go about caring for my mind, my emotions, my body, and my soul when I’m so used to focusing on helping OTHERS do that! Now doesn’t that sound familiar to you? Aren’t we generally the last person we take care of?

Making yourself your own best friend is tough.

We are all living systems. Complex interactions of energy-information which we freely and effectively exchange in relationship with our environment every moment.  When healers help others heal, we don’t focus on the those 2+million stories individuals have in their head, those painful memories, addictive tendencies, and more importantly, the wounded heart they may be protecting every moment of their existence.  We healers may see some of those things, but we don’t JUDGE IT in others!  It simply exists and we lovingly find ways that might help them heal.

But I’m thinking we judge all stories inside in ourselves and do so in a very harsh manner. We healers may not have the patience to devote time to healing ourselves because we have not practiced it as much as we have practiced healing others.  But is it only that?  Maybe the cause is deeper than that.  Are we afraid to heal because we will lose our self-identify?  Healing is hard work and it takes courage. So does that mean we are afraid of failure?  Or are we afraid of the pain inside us that must be addressed to heal?  Hum, so many thoughts on this.

I think all of us struggle with caring for ourselves.  I bet it has happened with you.

Enjoy the day . . .
