Collaborate With Yourself

Some individuals create great change that can easily be seen while others quietly teach us things that appear to be completely hidden until we reflect upon the incredible impact they have had on our lives. Positive or negative. Negative cannot exist without positive and visa-versa – they are intricate parts of each other. The deaf can hear and the blind can see – in a way that is special to them.

I was pondering this late fall sunflower from my garden and noticed all the obvious battle-scars and blemishes from its life as well as all the beauty and strength within it. Many do not see the beauty of blemishes – only the beauty of perfection.

This sunflower’s life became an analogy of my own life.  It’s life (my life) began as a simple seed (pregnancy) nourished by the sun and rain (nature & love), as it broke through the earth (birth), was occasionally threatened by wind and thunderstorms (violence), droughts (withdrew into the dark), bugs (not being heard), wind (sustaining), and birds eating its seeds (essence). They are each the positive and negative aspects of life. Yet, this sunflower is still beautiful in all aspects as it continues to complete its purpose-in collaboration. The earth supported it’s life for a season and now the plant itself will nourish the earth as compost plant matter.

Cherish the good and bad in all for they are both gifts; equally cherish the negative and difficult for they are our opportunities to grow, a gift of teaching that helps us learn compassion and go beyond the confines and boundaries of our out-dated damaging beliefs held inside.  Connect to humanity-do not hide. Darkness darkens the mind.

Each moment is the exact right time to turn life into a beautiful outrageous creative work of art with a strong flavoring of introspection and the science of physically “re-charging the soul”.  Don’t close your eyes and be blind-be brave and step forward with open eyes.  Blemishes and all.
